He has experience across hospitality, events, gaming and technology industries, and is currently responsible for developing the Technology and Product talent at Bally’s Interactive. His passions include the neuroscience of learning, data-driven strategy, the innovation of our industry to leave behind outdated and unhelpful practice, as well as ice hockey and cheese.

Ian Blackburn, Head of Analytics at THRIVE

Ian is a data enthusiast focused on creating environments where L&D teams can successfully implement learning analytics strategies to measure the impact of their work.  Drawing on 10 years’ experience in various roles revolving around data, Ian heads up the Data Lab team at THRIVE to help bridge the gap between L&D teams’ efforts and their organisational goals. Ian has hosted workshops for some of the world’s biggest brands, supporting teams at all different stages of their learning analytics journey, and continues to develop these tools and processes for the Data Lab customers at THRIVE.
